By investing our design thinking on inactive TV screen mode, we came up with great idea called Ambient Social News. It is basically a data visualization project, visualizing social trendy news data in a news format. We wanted to bring in emotional feeling from realistic metaphors that remind people a good old memory of newspaper. A biggest challenge on this project was choosing a right typeface, and also minimize its contents and visual elements. There are two versions for this project, one is ‘Trends’ from Twitter, and the other one is ‘Headlines’ from YouTube news. Both developed with real data based application for TV screen.
